Alyssa K. Nantz, of La Vergne, daughter of Wendell G. Nantz has been selected to participated in the 2008 Miss Tennessee USA/Teen USA The pageant will take place Oct. 4-6 in Clarksville.
She will be competing as Miss Rutherford County USA and will compete in swimsuit, evening gown and personal interview competitions. The pageant has two age divisions and the winners will go on to represent Tennessee in the 2008 Miss USA and Miss Teen USA Pageant. Miss USA goes on to compete in the Miss Universe Pageant.
The Miss Teen USA, Miss USA and Miss Universe Pageant system stresses good morals, physical fitness, communications skills and social awareness and community involvement.
Interesting facts about Alyssa is that she graduated in the top 10 percent of her 2006 La Vergne High School class, receiving the Hope Scholarship and now attends Motlow State community college, majoring in Dental Hygiene.
